Frequently Asked Questions about the Converter
Can I convert with my own bank's rate?
Yes. Pick your bank from the list and the converter uses the rate that bank publishes: its sell rate when you buy foreign currency and its buy rate when you sell. Banks you saved on Today's Rates are listed first, and the converter remembers the last rate you chose.
Can I convert with the rate from a past day?
Yes. Pick the date and the converter recalculates the result and the bank comparison with the rates published that day. Useful for checking an invoice or a transfer already made.
Can I calculate with the BNA rate or the informal market rate?
Yes. The BNA reference rate is the default: a single rate, the same for buying and selling. The informal (kinguila) rate is shown as an indication only, because those trades take place outside the institutions authorised by the BNA. Today's informal rate and the date it was collected are on the Informal (kinguila) rate today page.
How many banks does the converter compare?
Angola's 18 commercial banks. For each one, the table shows what you would pay or receive for the same amount, the difference from your own calculation and when the rate was updated. Each bank's profile is on the Banks page.
How do I convert several invoices at once?
Use the Exchange report: enter each invoice with its currency and date, and the report converts them to kwanzas at each day's rate. Then export the total as CSV, PDF or by email.
