Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how cambio.ao ("we") uses cookies and similar technologies to recognise you when you visit our site. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by site owners to make their sites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.

Cookies set by the site owner (in this case, cambio.ao) are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the site owner are called "third-party cookies". Third-party cookies enable third-party features to be provided on or through the website (for example, interactive content and analytics).

Why do we use cookies?

We use first-party and third-party cookies for two reasons. Some are necessary for the site to work and to remember your preferences — we refer to these as "necessary". Others help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it; these are only activated if you give us your consent.

The types of cookies we use

Necessary Cookies

These are essential for the site to function and to remember your own choices — your cookie decision, light or dark mode, and the state of certain panels. They are set only by us, do not track your activity, and are not shared with third parties. For that reason they cannot be disabled.

Analytics Cookies

These let us count visits, understand which pages are most useful, and observe how the site is actually used, including recordings of your browsing session (mouse movements and clicks) via Microsoft Clarity. They are provided by Google and Microsoft, are only activated after you accept them, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. Should that change, this policy and the preferences panel will be updated before any such cookie is set.

Which cookies we use, in detail

The table below lists everything we store on your device, what it is for, and how long it lasts. Items marked "Local storage" are not cookies: they stay in your browser and are never sent to us or to any third party.

Necessary — always active

Cookieless infrastructure

Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles page delivery and protection against attacks. Cloudflare collects aggregated performance measurements without setting cookies and without building any profile about you. Because it involves no cookies and no individual identification, this measurement runs regardless of your choice above — but we tell you here because we believe you should know who handles the requests you make to our site.

International transfers

If you accept analytics cookies, the data collected is processed by Google and Microsoft on servers located outside Angola. Lei n.º 22/11 governs such transfers in Articles 33 and 34, and the Data Protection Agency assesses the destination country's level of protection case by case. If you decline analytics cookies, none of your data is transferred to these providers for analytics purposes.

Legal basis under Lei n.º 22/11

In accordance with Angola's Lei n.º 22/11 on Data Protection, we process the personal data collected through cookies on the following legal grounds:

  • Consent: For analytics cookies, we rely on your explicit consent, which you may give or withdraw at any time through our cookie preferences centre.
  • Legitimate Interests: For necessary cookies, we rely on our legitimate interests in ensuring the proper functioning and security of our website.
  • Contractual Necessity: Some cookies are necessary for us to fulfil our contractual obligations to you when you use certain services on our website.

Your Rights

Under Lei n.º 22/11, you have several rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • The right to access your personal data
  • The right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • The right to erasure ("the right to be forgotten")
  • The right to restrict processing
  • The right to object to processing

To exercise these rights, or for any question about our use of cookies, contact our Data Protection Officer at contact@cambio.ao. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Angola's Data Protection Agency (APD).

How can you manage cookies?

You can change your decision at any time using the button below, or via the "Manage Cookies" link in the footer of any page. If you withdraw consent, the analytics cookies listed above are deleted from your device immediately.

You can also set your browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to refuse, you can continue to use our site normally — no feature depends on analytics cookies.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Please review this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.

This policy was last updated on 20 July 2026.
